Fire Capability Manager

As a Fire Capability Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational preparedness of Oakey station to ensure successful deployment of personnel, equipment, and planning to meet Defence capability requirements.

  • Maintain situational awareness for emergency scenarios, deploying resources effectively to mitigate risks.
  • Accountable for resource allocation, including personnel, fleet, equipment, and training, to meet performance objectives.
  • Lead employee engagement and drive service excellence in an inclusive working environment, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Build strong relationships with Defence Service Personnel, SEG Leadership, Base Community, and Industry partners to achieve collaborative outcomes.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to improve safety, environmental, and health outcomes, modelling exemplary behaviours (Learning, Engagement, Accountability, Discipline).
  • Contribute to the development of a world-class emergency response service, leveraging best practices and innovative approaches.
About You
  • Desirable qualifications include experience in emergency management, business management, complex service delivery, and leading people programs.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities based on risk, and make informed decisions to drive results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and willing to adapt to new technologies.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance as an Australian Citizen.
