Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that all workshop and subcontracted operations meet the highest standards of quality. This includes taking overall accountability for the quality of workshop jobs, inspecting jobs in progress to ensure compliance with drawings, standards, and procedures, and performing final inspections of completed workshop jobs prior to dispatch.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation to support compliance and continual improvement, including the management and control of non-conformances and action plans for root cause analysis and subsequent continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking overall accountability for the quality of workshop jobs.
  • Inspecting jobs in progress to ensure compliance with drawings, standards, and procedures.
  • Performing final inspections of completed workshop jobs prior to dispatch.
  • Conducting in-progress inspections of subcontracted operations.
  • Developing inspection test plans (ITPs) and other quality control documents as required.
  • Assisting in the disposition and documentation of non-conformances.
  • Maintaining measurement and inspection equipment to ensure it is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with relevant codes, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Identifying, reporting, and assisting in resolving quality issues, contributing to the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Proactively initiating actions to prevent the recurrence of non-conformances.
