About the Role

The Indigenous Academies Program Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating the delivery of in-school and after-school programs in Western Sydney. The key responsibility of this role is to develop and lead the execution of these programs, focusing on educational goals, school attendance, and transitioning students into further education and employment opportunities.

Key duties include:

  1. Developing and implementing program plans in partnership with schools and community stakeholders
  2. Maintaining strong relationships with Principals, Aboriginal Education Officers, and other key stakeholders
  3. Increasing education, employment, and health outcomes for Academy students through partnerships with service providers
  4. Mentoring and motivating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to reach their potential
  5. Assisting students to access educational and employment pathways
  6. Mentoring and managing casual program staff
  7. General office administrative tasks

Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
  2. A High School Certificate
  3. A Certificate qualification in community, health, youth work, social work, or a related area
  4. A Class C Driver's license with a reliable vehicle
  5. A Working with Children Check
  6. A National Police Certificate
  7. A First Aid Certificate
