At Stantec Consulting International Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Relations Expert to join our team in the British Columbia region. This key role will be responsible for fostering and strengthening relationships with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and businesses.

The successful candidate will coordinate and facilitate the full range of our Indigenous community engagement and relationship management initiatives, including active and future projects. They will provide assistance in developing business opportunities throughout the BC region and work collaboratively with operational and functional services leadership to deliver on Indigenous relations goals.

This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have experience building partnerships and working with Indigenous businesses, community members, governments, and organizations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in short and long-range planning, establishing Indigenous related priorities and business development opportunities.
  • Engage and collaborate with local, regional, and national leaders in Indigenous engagement to inform strategy and practice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous leadership and communities in the BC Region.
  • Act as a central coordination point for the navigation of relationships and partnerships between Stantec and Indigenous communities and businesses.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to implement strategies and recommendations to strengthen Indigenous engagement and consultation.

The successful candidate will possess a high level of integrity and personal accountability, as well as strong facilitative, negotiation, influencing, written communication, and presentation skills. A 4-year university degree with 8 years' related experience or technical diploma/certification with extensive years of related work experience is required.
