Healthscope seeks an experienced and skilled Senior Adult Speech Language Therapist to join our team in a challenging role.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly qualified individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality speech language therapy services to patients across various wards.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a caseload and work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide comprehensive speech language therapy services to patients across ICU, CCU, surgical, rehabilitation, and oncology wards.
  • To assess and manage dysphagia in complex cases, including head and neck cancer and tracheostomy patients.
  • To maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and outcomes using Functional Independent Measure (FIM).
  • To actively participate in case conferences and progress meetings with the multidisciplinary team.
  • To contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the Allied Health Department.
  • To collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to patients and their families.
  • To facilitate discharge planning and referrals to external services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in adult speech language therapy in an acute hospital setting.
  • Eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and positive approach to work.
  • Able to effectively manage a caseload and work independently.

Salary & Benefits

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
