Are you a detail-oriented and skilled professional looking for a role that combines maintenance and gardening responsibilities?

This position involves providing maintenance and gardening support to our Retirement Village. Reporting to the Retirement Living Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the site is tidy and well-maintained, conducting regular inspections, and performing general maintenance and repairs to buildings and infrastructure.

About the Role

This full-time Gardener/Maintenance Officer opportunity offers a stable working environment with long-term career prospects within our supportive and inclusive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the site to ensure it remains tidy and well-maintained.
  • Carry out general maintenance and repairs to buildings and infrastructure, including equipment maintenance and inventory management.
  • Horticultural and grounds maintenance to maximise seasonal conditions.
  • Mow lawns, edge, fertilise and weed; clear garden refuse.
  • Paths, drains, edges maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Undertake repair work and maintenance duties within the village in consultation with the Retirement Village Manager.
  • Maintain records of all works conducted.

Requirements

  • Horticultural knowledge and experience (desirable).
  • Maintenance and/or trade qualification (desirable).
  • Experience in general and commercial maintenance.
  • Ability to operate ride-on mowers, gardening equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
