About the role

In this role, reporting to the Retirement Living Manager, you will provide maintenance and gardening support to the Retirement Village. A friendly sociable personality with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a good fit for this role.

Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the site is tidy and well-maintained to support all activities.
  • General maintenance and repairs to buildings and infrastructure.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of equipment and adhere to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Horticultural and grounds maintenance to maximise seasonal conditions; prune trees and shrubs.
  • Mow lawns, edge, fertilise and weed; clear garden refuse.
  • Paths, drains, edges maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Undertake repair work and maintenance duties within the village in consultation with the Retirement Village Manager.
  • Maintain records of all works conducted.

What you will bring

  • Horticultural knowledge and experience (desirable).
  • Maintenance and/or trade qualification (desirable).
  • Experience in general and commercial maintenance.
  • Experience in safe operation of ride-on mowers, gardening equipment and power tools with adherence to WHS policies.
  • Problem solving and a "can do" attitude.
  • Exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
