Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Environmental Health Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for students studying Environmental Health to gain hands-on experience while completing their degree.

  • As a Trainee Environmental Health Officer, you will work closely with experienced professionals to provide educational, statutory, advisory, monitoring, and enforcement services to the community on environmental health issues.

This role requires effective communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to develop empathy, trust, and rapport with internal and external customers. You must have commenced a degree in Environmental Health and be willing to learn about environmental health legislation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental health principles and practices, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. If you are passionate about environmental health and want to make a positive contribution to the community, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing educational services to the community on environmental health issues
  • Work with Environmental Health Officers to monitor and enforce environmental health regulations
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers to ensure effective communication and service delivery
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
Requirements:
  • Currently studying Environmental Health at a tertiary institution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform midge larvae sampling tasks
