Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Development Manager to contribute to the growth of our organisation.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising financial returns by ensuring project execution aligns with governance and risk management frameworks.

  • Provide commercial input during assessment and development of new business pursuits.
  • Review contractual instruments and evaluate opportunity suitability based on our organisation's risk profile.
  • Coordinate and lead opportunity and risk assessments.
  • Model and analyse commercial frameworks, applying sensitivity analysis to forecast contractual performance.
  • Identify risk mitigation strategies and develop opportunity capitalization plans.
  • Prepare commercial tender responses.
  • Participate in governance and assurance review processes.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and collaborate with legal teams to finalise contractual instruments.

Key Responsibilities Post Contract Award:

  • Provide commercial input into rights and obligations handover to project delivery teams.
  • Facilitate structured handover of contracts, subcontracts, and project control tools.
  • Support contract risk control and assurance activities through reporting and audits.
  • Lead margin and contract performance reviews.
  • Respond to project team escalations regarding contract interpretation or commercial performance.
  • Support contractual dispute processes, interfacing with legal counsel.

Governance:

  • Implement structured commercial management practices across our organisation.
  • Support embedding of project controls, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Manage queries related to delegated authorities, procurement, and contract interpretation.
  • Manage commercial reporting data and analysis.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in commercial development and project management.
