Job Title: Travel Coordinator and Administrative Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Travel Coordinator and Administrative Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing patient travel claims under the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS).

You will also arrange and manage travel and accommodation bookings for staff and patients, including the Queensland Voluntary Assisted Dying Support and Pharmacy Service (QVAD SPS). Additionally, you will act as a super user for the Patient Travel Information Management System (PTIMS), offering expert advice to users across Metro South Health.

Your responsibilities will include preparing high-level documents and liaising with key stakeholders, including executive staff and government offices, to support effective and compliant travel arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and process patient travel claims under the PTSS.
  • Arrange and manage travel and accommodation bookings for staff and patients.
  • Act as a super user for PTIMS, offering expert advice to users.
  • Prepare high-level documents and liaise with key stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in travel coordination and administrative processes, ideally within a government or healthcare context.
  • A high level of accuracy in data entry and experience with electronic systems such as PTIMS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to confidently assist patients and staff via phone, email, and in person.
  • An understanding of equity and cultural sensitivity when supporting patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
