Administrative Officer QVAD Travel Role

This role involves providing expert guidance and support for patient and staff travel in accordance with Department of Health travel policies.

  • Coordinate and process patient travel claims under the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS).
  • Arrange and manage travel and accommodation bookings for staff and patients, including the Queensland Voluntary Assisted Dying Support and Pharmacy Service (QVAD SPS).
  • Act as a super user for the Patient Travel Information Management System (PTIMS), offering expert advice to users across Metro South Health.
  • Prepare high-level documents and liaise with key stakeholders, including executive staff and government offices, to support effective and compliant travel arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in travel coordination and administrative processes, ideally within a government or healthcare context.
  • A high level of accuracy in data entry and experience with electronic systems such as PTIMS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to confidently assist patients and staff via phone, email, and in person.
  • An understanding of equity and cultural sensitivity when supporting patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
