About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Principal to lead St Joseph's School in Malvern. As a key member of the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools team, you will be responsible for inspiring and enabling students to flourish and enrich the world.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of instructional leadership, with the ability to determine and implement evidence-based learning and teaching programs. They will also be committed to fostering a workplace that prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of all, and will have a strong commitment to enrollment growth, financial stability, and risk mitigation.

The Principal will work in collaboration with the school community, MACS, and the broader Catholic education system to achieve the identified goals of the school. They will be responsible for setting high standards for self and others in the leadership of pastoral care and the provision of engaging education that provides multiple pathways and options for positive outcomes for young people.

About the School

St Joseph's School is a welcoming and inclusive community that provides education that equips young people with the knowledge, skills, hope and optimism to live a meaningful life. The school has a strong focus on explicit teaching, with a focus on English and Mathematics, and a holistic curriculum and wellbeing focus that supports children's learning.

The school is located in Malvern, a vibrant and diverse community that is close to public transport and a short distance from Glenferrie Road. The successful candidate will be expected to actively engage with the community and grow school enrolments under their leadership.

  • Evidence of strong senior faith leadership, including being an active member in good standing of the Catholic Church community.
  • Demonstrated ability in instructional leadership, including determining and implementing evidence-based learning and teaching programs.
  • Evidence of unwavering commitment to fostering a workplace that prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of all.
  • Displays a strong commitment to enrollment growth, financial stability, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated understanding and enactment of the legislative and systemic compliance requirements applicable to all Catholic schools.
  • Show attributes of justice and compassion in setting high standards for self and others in the leadership of pastoral care and the provision of engaging education.
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills to enable team growth and development, champion innovation and improvements to support continuous learning.
