About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists to lead the Colac Campus at St Joseph's Special Assistance School, commencing in 2025.

As Campus Principal, you will have delegated responsibility for the day-to-day management and leadership and any outreach services related to the Colac campus.

You will lead a team of professional and dedicated teaching staff, youth workers and support staff who are committed to providing educational pathways for young people who have been disenfranchised from mainstream education.

About St Joseph's

St Joseph's Schools are a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition and are recognised as a leading organisation for the provision of educational and social inclusion programs for disenfranchised young people.

We operate multiple campuses located in North Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED.

Our approach is grounded in the Operation by Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.

About the Colac Campus

The Colac campus plays a vital role in the St Joseph's narrative, with its roots tracing back to students from the Colac community who were initially enrolled through the Geelong site.

The Colac campus is characterised by a small, warm, and close-knit school community, fostering strong and trusting relationships among students and staff.

Colac itself is recognised as an excellent place to work, offering a supportive community, a range of recreational activities, and a blend of natural beauty and modern amenities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of professional and dedicated teaching staff, youth workers and support staff.
  2. Develop and implement educational programs that cater to the needs of young people who have been disenfranchised from mainstream education.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and the wider community.

Requirements

  1. Registered teacher in Victoria or ability to gain registration prior to commencement.
  2. Experience in educational leadership and management.
  3. Commitment to working in a trauma-informed practice model that promotes diversity, safety and inclusion.
