This role involves working with a leading technology firm in Sydney, AU as a Product Quality Engineer.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing processes that deliver high quality and reliable products. This includes working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the deployment of reliable products that meet all mission requirements.

The quality team works collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure product quality and reliability. The Quality Engineer will support Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality objectives are met and mitigate risks affecting production deliverables.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work in a modern manufacturing environment supporting incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and end-of-line inspection
  • Lead Material Review Board processes to ensure timely resolution of non-conformances
  • Lead supplier quality assurance activities, including supplier development, qualification (PPAP/FAI), ongoing verification
  • Propose, develop, and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to support AS9100/ISO9001 certification
  • Support ongoing development of manufacturing work instructions
  • Review and propose continuous improvement projects for productivity gains, quality improvements, and benefits to quality policy
  • Support the calibration process of test equipment, jigs, and fixtures
  • Support internal and external audits on processes and procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical field
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense/maritime or similar hardware
  • Working knowledge of design review and quality management of PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites, propulsion systems, and welding
  • Experience driving product quality and performance requirements to test and measurement system development and optimization
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements such as Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes
  • A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion
  • Analytical skills and experiences for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, etc)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 Security Clearance
