Are you a high-performing technical or project director looking for a leadership opportunity that combines technical project delivery and state manager leadership?

Career development opportunity with a balance of technical project delivery and state manager leadership.

Join a thriving and growing business that values career development.

The Opportunity

This is a unique leadership opportunity for high-performing project or technical directors. In this role, you'll devote approximately 40% of your time working closely with the Managing Director Australia, on influencing the culture of our teams and building our brand recognition across the region. The remaining time will be allocated to project responsibilities, for example, key account management, strategic pursuits/bids, and project delivery. This role will report into one of our three Australia-based General Managers depending on your core discipline, preferably in the Energy and/or Water markets.

In the role as a technical leader, you will be responsible for design management, project management, and coordination of multidisciplinary projects, developing a culture of outstanding delivery and providing coaching and mentoring to our enthusiastic team.

Your key accountabilities in the State Manager NSW/ACT position will be to foster a positive and inclusive culture across our Sydney, Canberra, and Newcastle offices and to provide leadership that inspires, unites, and influences our teams in a way that enhances and grows our exceptional collaboration with General Managers and Market Directors. You'll also lead the coordination and execution of NSW and ACT market growth strategies, including identifying new market opportunities, overseeing market-facing activity, and tracking performance to ensure our regional strategic objectives are met.

Key to success in this position will be an ability to help build brand recognition across the region with a focus on business development and representing Beca in client and public forums, engaging with key clients, stakeholders, and market contacts.

You will be an advocate of our brand, our people, and our clients, with an engaging style essential in this role. You'll be keen to work on key challenges and opportunities across government, infrastructure, development, environmental, economic, and cultural dimensions.

About You

Coming from an engineering consultancy background or similar, you will have gained a reputation in one of our growth areas (Energy, Water, or Defence) and have a passion for technical and project delivery.

An excellent networker, influencer, team player, and facilitator who enjoys working with a diverse team, you'll work to create a level of consistency locally among our leaders to support the delivery of the NSW and ACT plans and key initiatives. Importantly, you'll connect with the wider Beca business to bring the best our company has to offer to our clients and communities.

You'll be excited by the opportunities that lay ahead, have a knack for networking and building strong relationships, and be excited about the opportunity to grow Beca's presence and influence in the NSW and ACT markets.
