About the Position:
The Guidance Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting students, teachers and parents with educational, behavioural, career development, mental health and family issues. This position requires an individual who can advocate, provide counselling and psychoeducational assessment, as well as offer recommendations and advice to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate and provide individual student support, recommendations and advice to students, teachers and parents concerning educational, behavioural, career development, mental health and family issues.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate effective working relationships and partnerships with parents, school personnel and external support agencies to provide comprehensive support services.
- Conduct activities such as student observation and psychoeducational assessment to determine learning difficulties, disability, developmental levels or psychological and emotional status.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in guidance and counselling or related fields.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
