Culinary Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at the Acacia Early Learning Centre in Barton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing menus on a weekly basis, taking into consideration Community Services#1's Food and Nutrition policy. They will also be responsible for organising orders for buying bulk food, as well as weekly and daily shopping for fresh food, and maintaining and ordering kitchen supplies.

In addition, the Cook will be required to check the accuracy and freshness of food deliveries made to the centre and ensure all foods are stored correctly (as per Food Safety Plan). They will also need to consult with families and guardians regarding their children's special diets, foods and allergies.

About This Role:
  • To be considered for this role, you'll hold, or be working towards, a Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery (or ACECQA approved equivalent). If you are part-way through completing your studies, we are happy to consider you.
  • You must be able to communicate positively and effectively with children and their families, delivering stimulating educational programs based on the needs and interests of the children in your care.
  • Most importantly, you will be a caring, positive, and nurturing individual passionate about the growth and development of young children.
  • This role will see you building strong relationships with our educators, the children in our care and their families. This will ensure that we continue providing quality services and that our children are set up for a bright and successful future.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Food Handling/Food Safety Certificates
  • Hold unrestricted Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • National Police Check
  • Drivers Licence
