East Gippsland Shire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Works Coordinator to lead and guide a multifaceted team of skilled individuals covering fleet management, building maintenance, carpentry, and mechanics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice, direction, and guidance on the maintenance of Council's building assets and minor structures.
  • Work with other teams within the organization on projects such as the transition to an electric vehicle (EV) fleet.
  • Effectively manage allocated maintenance and capital project budgets.
  • Undertake regular performance appraisals of direct reports to ensure performance development and ongoing training and personal development to meet operational needs.
  • Promote Occupational Health and Safety and ensure legislation and policies are adhered to.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience as outlined in the position description.
  • Leadership, negotiation, and human resource management skills.
  • Ability to manage a large workload with competing demands.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and sound judgment.
  • A current, valid Victorian Driver's license.
