Paediatric Rheumatology Specialist

The role involves providing exceptional clinical services to children and their families as part of a paediatric rheumatology multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage acute and chronic rheumatic diseases, including inflammatory arthritis, autoimmune disease, vasculitis, uveitis, and non-inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Attend clinics at Sydney Children's Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead, and provide outreach clinics in metropolitan and regional NSW.
  • Participate in review and improvement activities, advocacy, training, and education of staff.
  • Engage in research and adhere to hospital codes of conduct.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatric Rheumatologist or overseas-trained specialist pathways in Paediatric Rheumatology.
  • Recent and ongoing clinical experience in tertiary paediatric rheumatology services, including inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
  • Effective clinical communication skills and willingness to participate in regular outreach clinic provision.
