Job Title: Head Pastry Chef
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pastry operations, manage a team of 4-6 staff, and ensure top-notch customer service and product quality.
- Maintain an organised, clean, and safe kitchen environment, manage stock rotation, shelf management, date coding, and inventory.
- Handle product display, stock ordering, and promotional planning, and ensure strict adherence to food safety and HACCP standards.
- Set and achieve department goals for sales, margin, and labour.
Requirements:
- Trade qualification of equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in a similar role and strong leadership skills.
- Food Handlers Certificate and HACCP Certification for production facility roles.
- Proven ability to motivate, train, and support staff, with strong organisational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
- Sound knowledge of workforce management and budgeting, and a friendly, professional approach with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer use and adaptability to new software systems, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
