Education and Engagement Specialist

Overview of the Role:

Our organization seeks an Education and Engagement Specialist to amplify the impact of its Cancer Navigation Program.

The program supports individuals with rare cancers primarily via phone and telehealth, facilitating access to treatment, navigating health systems, managing travel and accommodation, and reducing feelings of isolation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement education and engagement strategies to raise awareness of our programs and deliver health education effectively.
  • Identify key messages and communication channels to engage diverse audiences, including patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and the wider community.
  • Tailor health promotion initiatives to meet the needs of priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, rural and remote communities, and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
  • Deliver and facilitate engaging education and training sessions for various stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, patient advocacy groups, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Engage actively with patients, families, and community groups to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Organize community events, workshops, and educational sessions, representing our organization at interstate forums and conferences as required.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of education and engagement initiatives, generating regular reports for internal stakeholders.
