Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:
The position of Mental Health Specialist is open for applications. This role involves providing high-quality mental health services to children and young people in the Northwest region of Tasmania. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care, assessments, and treatment planning in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver secondary level mental health interventions to children and families.
  • Develop and support collaborative care partnerships with service providers.
  • Collect and review client and service outcome data.
  • Contribute to continuing quality and safety, service development and improvement, and professional development processes.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study, registration with the relevant National Board or full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association. They must also hold current Working with Children Registration (where applicable), a current Driver's Licence, and minimum 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role.

Benefits:
The Department of Health offers a range of benefits including salary packaging, access to salaries beyond $119,290 subject to qualifications, travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate, professional development and accelerated pathways, and leave entitlements including study leave and Professional Development Support.
