Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to continually review, develop and execute key commercial strategies that optimize customer value, cost control, and business systems within the home claims sector. This involves challenging conventional practices to deliver superior performance, enhance people capabilities and contribute to the company's strategic direction and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine and capitalize on market and internal opportunities to create a competitive advantage.
  • Establish new or redefine existing commercial relationships to align with the growing scale of our repairer network, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Develop new capabilities and programs that create a cost-effective repair service platform and fully leverage technology investments.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and business risk policies, challenging these as needed to meet commercial, regulatory, legislative, and business environment demands.
  • In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, design and implement supplier management and assessment strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Oversee the assessing department's performance, ensuring alignment between cost control methodologies and customer service/brand reputation outcomes.
  • Develop systems and tools to monitor and manage contract deliverables, service levels, and commercial outcomes.
  • Pursue strategic sourcing or supply process improvement projects within category management.
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety protocols as directed by leaders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Significant experience in Home Claims and/or the Home Insurance Industry.
  • Insurance Building industry experience.
  • Proven expertise in strategic procurement, including centralization of commercial strategies and achievement of substantial cost savings primarily within the insurance sector or similar services industries.
  • A deep understanding of financial levers and high commercial acumen.
  • A track record of driving performance through accountability for results and a performance-driven culture.
  • Success in exploiting technology to solve customer and operational challenges in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience in implementing and delivering operational efficiency/business process enhancement initiatives while maintaining an engaged, committed organizational culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to negotiate business outcomes combined with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of legislative frameworks related to building industry and financial services (desired but not required).
