Brisbane, Queensland, Australia beBeeSystem Full time $90,000 - $120,000

The Australian Taxation Office's Payday Super initiative offers a groundbreaking opportunity to modernize the Super Guarantee system, addressing an estimated $5.1 billion in unpaid SG annually and enhancing retirement incomes for millions of Australians.

Payday Super requires extensive collaboration across the Super Guarantee ecosystem, including employers, digital service providers, gateways, clearing houses, super funds, and the ATO. Preparations involve adapting systems, workflows, and compliance practices to meet the faster pace required by the new system. Legislative changes are being developed by Treasury, while the ATO and industry stakeholders work proactively to align with upcoming requirements.

Key to this transition is the ATO's enhanced capability to match Single Touch Payroll data with super contribution reports, allowing for proactive compliance monitoring and faster intervention when employers fail to meet obligations. This results in more timely contributions for workers. The Payday Super initiative will drive significant operational and cultural shifts within the superannuation industry, requiring readiness for faster data processing and regulatory responses.

The ATO seeks a detail-oriented Systems Analyst to play a critical role in the Payday Super initiative. As a transformative program, it ensures faster, more accurate processing of superannuation contributions, benefiting millions of Australians. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by analyzing requirements, designing system enhancements, and supporting the integration of new processes. Their role will ensure that systems across the Super Guarantee ecosystem align with legislative and operational changes.

The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, including employers, super funds, digital service providers, and the ATO, to gather and document business requirements. They will analyze existing systems and processes to identify gaps and opportunities for alignment with Payday Super requirements. Collaboration with Solution Designers and Architects will be essential to translate business needs into technical specifications.

The successful candidate's key responsibilities will include:

- Analyzing existing systems and processes to identify gaps and opportunities for alignment with Payday Super requirements.
- Developing and documenting functional and non-functional requirements to guide system changes.
- Ensuring compatibility and compliance with legislative changes and program goals.
- Collaborating with testing teams to validate system functionality against requirements.
- Assisting in preparing test plans, scenarios, and cases to ensure quality deliverables.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of system processes, requirements, and changes.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Systems Analyst, preferably in large-scale, compliance-driven projects. They will have a strong understanding of system integration, data analysis, and process mapping. Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and knowledge of superannuation systems, Single Touch Payroll, or financial services are also essential.

This role requires high analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prioritizing tasks efficiently and experience in legislative or public-sector projects are highly desirable.
