Sport Turf Management Professional

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Sport Turf Management Apprentice. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to kickstart your career in sports turf management, gaining practical experience working alongside seasoned professionals.
This four-year apprenticeship offers paid hands-on training under expert mentors, equipping you with valuable skills and a nationally recognised trade qualification. You will attend weekly classroom sessions to deepen your knowledge and skills, preparing you for a successful career in the industry.
As a Sport Turf Management Professional, you will learn:
- Plant Care and Maintenance
- Plant Nutrition Programs
- Pest and Disease Management
- Irrigation Systems Installation and Maintenance
- Specialist Transplanting, Pruning, and Mowing Operations
- Safety Protocols and Equipment Operation
Your key tasks will include:
- Mowing of grounds with ride-on cylinder mowers
- Line marking
- Cricket wicket preparation
- Application of fertilisers
- Brushing of synthetic surfaces
- Seasonal turf renovations
- All other general sports turf maintenance tasks
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- No prior experience required
- A valid drivers' license
- A valid Working With Vulnerable People Check (or be willing to obtain one)
- A valid White Card (or be willing to obtain one)
