About the Role

The Mental Health Services team is seeking dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapists to join their casual team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in helping individuals with mental health conditions regain their independence and quality of life.

You will work closely with clients to assess their unique needs, develop personalised treatment plans, and implement interventions that focus on enhancing daily living skills, coping strategies, and overall mental well-being.

The team is committed to offering compassionate, evidence-based care to empower clients on their journey to recovery and independence. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The role is available at AHP1 and AHP2 levels, with opportunities to be considered for temporary or ongoing vacancies as they arise. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that is dedicated to providing high-quality care to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess client needs and develop personalised treatment plans
  • Implement interventions that focus on enhancing daily living skills, coping strategies, and overall mental well-being
  • Work closely with clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and carers

Requirements:

  • Must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Experience working with people who have a mental illness, their families and/or carers
  • Clinical experience in direct service provision to clients experiencing mental illness and their carers
  • Ability to provide occupational therapy assessments, work within a rehabilitation framework and develop and implement occupational therapy interventions for consumers within the team and area
