Transforming Customer Banking Experience:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Expert to join our team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI to deliver exceptional banking experiences for our customers.

Your primary objective will be to design and develop innovative data science solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into our industry-leading banking app, used by millions of customers every day. This requires close collaboration with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams within the Retail Bank to ensure our customers benefit fully from our services.

You will bring a strong business acumen and demonstrable experience in applying statistics, machine learning, and AI to predict the next best action for our customers. This includes developing advanced AI capabilities, working closely with business teams and analytics communities across the bank, and using data and AI to enhance customer financial wellbeing.

We Are Looking for Individuals Who:

  • Are passionate about building and validating market-leading responsible AI practices and models.
  • Are excited about tackling new challenging business problems in data science using AI and Generative AI responsibly.
  • Can apply a combination of statistics, AI, and analytics to find unique solutions that add strategic value to the business.
  • Are collaborative in nature, working alongside risk, product, and technical teams, proactive in solving data problems, and courageous in influencing stakeholders positively.

Tech Skills:

  • We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks, and expect you to think deeply about problems and apply your statistical and technical skills imaginatively.
  • You must have strong coding skills to quickly implement ideas and write production code.
  • Substantial experience in developing, validating, deploying, and monitoring statistical and machine learning models using Python, SQL, R, or any other language is required.
  • Experience building and testing Generative AI solutions is highly desirable.
  • You should understand model governance best practices and have practical experience with command line, GitHub, AWS, and CI/CD pipeline.

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum (estimated salary range based on location and experience), plus additional benefits and opportunities for career growth.
