Imaging Researcher

We are seeking a skilled researcher to join our team in the development of novel light-based and label-free imaging technologies. The successful candidate will play a leading role in developing and implementing classical concepts for imaging within a vibrant research environment.

The project aims to build upon the area of photonics and its applications in other multidisciplinary fields. The imaging will be conducted with a range of biological samples, such as mouse embryos, with availability of other cells via collaborations. The project will use novel photonics and address real-world challenges through the development of non-invasive biomedical imaging.

To be successful you will need:

  • A PhD in Optics/ Photonics/ Physics and/or Microscopy, with a strong focus on light-sheet and multiphoton microscopy.
  • Experience in one or more of: advanced optical imaging; classical imaging; multiphoton imaging; the development and application of numerical methods of deep learning or multivariate analysis.
  • Interdisciplinary experience with projects that overlap across multiple fields.
  • The ability to plan and manage own research activity and conduct relevant individual and collaborative research projects.
  • Good oral communication, skills in journal and conference paper writing.
