Flood and Coastal Risk Management Specialist

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking a highly skilled Flood and Coastal Risk Specialist to provide technical analysis and guidance to support disaster adaptation planning across NSW.
This role requires subject matter expertise on a wide range of projects, including ensuring that strategic planning and policy decisions are informed by accurate flood and coastal risk management data.
The successful candidate will have experience in environmental science, coastal geography or geomorphology, flood engineering, or a related field to provide advice and recommendations that inform strategic planning and programs of work.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical analysis and guidance to support disaster adaptation planning across NSW
- Ensure strategic planning and policy decisions are informed by accurate flood and coastal risk management data
- Develop new technical methodologies or approaches drawing on contemporary research and practice
- Support the development of new projects and programs related to flood and coastal risk management
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, coastal geomorphology, geography, geoscience, hydrology, hydraulic modeling, engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience, knowledge and skills in assessing and managing flood and coastal risks
- Highly skilled in communicating, both orally and in writing, for technical and non-technical audiences
- Project management experience in planning and delivering projects relating to flood and coastal risks
- Collaboration and engagement skills including the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
