Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on health and safety matters, promoting a positive culture and approach towards health, safety, environment, and sustainability.
- Ensure all health and safety best practices, policies, and procedures are followed to mitigate risk across the business.
- Establish and implement health and safety policies and procedures to maintain high standards.
- Monitor industry trends and H&S legislation changes, advising management on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and spot check audits to identify potential hazards and recommended corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice on H&S related issues, acting as the primary point of contact relating to Health and Safety matters.
- Manage the site's waste streams alongside overall improvement plans to reduce waste generated in all departments.
- Analyse data & utilise KPI's to identify improvements in all areas relating to H&S.
- Recommend preventative and implement corrective actions and monitor the effectiveness of improvements.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and update HSE records and documentation, including logs, risk assessments and safety procedures.
- Develop and monitor HSE training programs for all employees at all levels, ensuring they understand and comply with safety awareness and procedures.
- Promote awareness and understanding of HSE practices through the health and safety committee, ongoing education and communications.
- Mentor and support all staff in implementing HSE initiatives and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HSE programs and initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental performance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs, recommending improvements when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning through to execution.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training requirements such as first aid and fire Marshall.
- Act as a key point of contact during emergency situations, providing guidance and support to ensure a prompt and effective response.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or similar.
- A demonstrable and proven track record in the use of Quality tools; such as 8 D, FEMEA, Ishikawa, Root cause, Kaizen/Six Sigma & 5 Y associated Quality tools.
- A knowledgeable understanding of ISO 9001 & adherence to additional standards, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
