About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Dam Safety Management System Specialist to join our team at WaterNSW. This is an opportunity to work with a leading organization in the water management sector, creating a more sustainable future for the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, review, and audit of the Dam Safety Management System (DSMS) to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the assessment and reporting of the DSMS 'Objectives and Measures', and resolve audit and assurance actions in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement a competency assurance system to ensure staff have the necessary capabilities, knowledge, and experience to identify abnormalities in dam conditions and manage risk.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify and deliver appropriate assurances to improve team efficiency and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and administer dam surveillance training materials and champion continuous improvement initiatives in accordance with the DSMS.
Requirements
  • Experience in developing and implementing certified business management systems, with knowledge of audit and assurance best practices.
  • Knowledge of WaterNSW's operating environment and regulatory requirements, including ISO standards and DSMS.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience in liaising, consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in planning and organizing work, monitoring priorities, and working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in conducting technical training to diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Quality Auditing and/or Business, or a related discipline, and/or Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
