Senior Loss Recovery Specialist

This is a challenging role for a seasoned professional with expertise in loss recovery and customer engagement. As a Senior Loss Recovery Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-risk arrears accounts, ensuring timely action to resolve outstanding debts.

  • Manage a portfolio of complex, high-risk arrears accounts.
  • Apply commercial acumen to determine suitable recovery strategies.
  • Engage directly with customers using advanced collections techniques.
  • Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions and recovery efforts.
  • Oversight of the repossession process to ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managed a portfolio of high-risk arrears accounts, ensuring appropriate and timely action to resolve outstanding debts
  • Applied commercial judgement to determine suitable recovery strategies, including debt write-offs, escalations, or referrals to mercantile agencies
  • Engaged directly with customers using advanced collections techniques to secure immediate payments or establish sustainable payment arrangements
  • Maintained detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions and recovery efforts, supporting transparency and audit readiness
  • Provided clear and concise instructions to external mercantile agencies, ensuring thorough investigation and resolution pathways
  • Oversaw the repossession process, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
Requirements

Deep Understanding: Financial Services and Asset Finance industry, including NCCP and Debt Collection Guidelines.
Proven Experience: Loss recovery, collections, and responsible lending environments.
Skills: Strong negotiation and customer engagement skills with a high level of emotional intelligence.

Benefits

Salary: $85,000–$90,000 + super
Work Hours: 8:30 am–5:00 pm
Location: Melbourne - 2 days/week in the office (any days)
