Youth Transition Specialist

Supporting young people transitioning from detention is a key aspect of this role. The Staying on Track Program aims to improve community safety and reduce reoffending by providing targeted support.
As a Mentor, you will work directly with young people aged 10-17 involved in the youth justice system, helping them overcome offending behaviours and build resilience.
The role involves establishing positive relationships with young people, providing tailored support, assisting successful transitions, and implementing mentoring interventions.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships to encourage trust and engagement.
- Provide trauma-informed support to address individual needs.
- Assist young people in transitioning from detention to community life.
- Implement mentoring interventions to improve wellbeing and reduce offending.
Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with young people, addressing their individual needs, and supporting successful transitions.
Requirements include a Certificate IV in Youth Work or similar, current Blue Card, National Police Check, and a willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
