About the Role

The Senior Medical Officer will provide primary health care services and clinical leadership within the Prison Health Services, working across all correctional facilities within West Moreton Health Service.

This position is based at The Park Centre for Mental Health, with regular visits to correctional facilities in the West Moreton region.

This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional who can demonstrate the following:

  • Commitment to quality in health care, including contributing to initiatives relating to quality improvement, research, risk management, and patient outcomes.
  • Extensive clinical experience in providing primary health services in a correctional environment, with the ability to deliver quality specialist care to patients in a clinical setting.
  • Effective communication skills, promoting trust, respect, and integrity with patients and colleagues.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to lead the performance, development, and education program of clinicians at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Strong ethical behavior, consistently applying ethical standards to self and others.
  • Treatment of all individuals with dignity and respect in healthcare settings.
Mandatory Requirements

Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases is mandatory for this role.
