Job Title: Maintenance Fitter

We are seeking a skilled maintenance fitter to join our team at the Material Recovery Facility plant. As a full-time employee, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and inclusive team of people.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for checking and repairing electrical circuits, undertaking safety procedures and performing examination tasks. This will include fault finding, diagnosing faults using electrical schematics and standard practices, conducting inspections, testing, repairing and maintaining electrical circuits, and responding to diagnostics and fault-finding practises in the plant at all times.

Responsibilities:
  • Check and repair electrical circuits, undertake safety procedures and perform examination tasks
  • Fault finding, including diagnosing faults using electrical schematics and standard practices
  • Conduct inspections, testing, repairing and maintaining electrical circuits
  • Respond to diagnostics and fault-finding practises in the plant at all times
  • Identify potential problems or efficiency improvements to a process
  • Conduct servicing and fault diagnosis on forklifts, trucks, conveyors and other mobile assets
  • Responsible for ensuring plant machines and equipment run smoothly
  • Overhaul, repair and replace mechanical and electrical components
  • Record parts usage and request stock as required
  • Adhere to OHS guidelines at all times
  • Report and document equipment defects and service actions
  • Communicate and report to internal management when required
About You:
  • Previous experience in maintenance fitting in waste management, recycling or manufacturing would be highly regarded
  • A Grade Electrical license is essential
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade is desirable but not mandatory
  • Exposure to maintenance systems such as MEX would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of MRF equipment or similar industrial plant would be highly regarded and ability to troubleshoot
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations
  • Commitment to safe and quality work practices
