About the role

Westwood Automotive is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Apprentice Mechanic to join our team in Deer Park, VIC 3023. As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our experienced technicians and learning the ins and outs of automotive repair and maintenance. This is a full-time position that will provide you with comprehensive training and development opportunities to kickstart your career in the automotive industry.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting experienced mechanics with the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles
  2. Performing basic servicing tasks such as oil changes, Tyre rotations and wheel alignments
  3. Learning how to use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and address mechanical issues
  4. Completing theoretical and practical training to develop your technical skills and knowledge
  5. Ensuring a safe and organized work environment by following all health and safety procedures
  6. Providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively with customers

What we're looking for

  1. Passion for the automotive industry and a keen interest in mechanics and problem-solving
  2. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  4. A positive, proactive and collaborative attitude to learning and working in a team
  5. The ability to work safely and conscientiously in a workshop environment
