We are a national NDIS provider delivering support in over 300 locations across Australia to thousands of participants with Occupational & Speech Therapy, Behaviour Support, Psychology, Exercise Physiology & Physiotherapy services. Our Gold Coast team are looking for an experienced BSP or candidates considering a new career pathway within Behaviour Support - that come from a strong background in either the disability or mental health sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting NDIS participants and their families/carers to manage challenging behaviours to improve quality of life and develop new skills
  • Conducting thorough assessments to understand behaviour triggers, identify risks and consider specific strategies to improve behaviour outcomes
  • Developing Behaviour Support Plans and providing support to families and/or carers for consistent implementation
  • Maintaining a caseload with ongoing monitoring, support and making adjustments where required
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life
  • Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers or friends
  • Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current suitability as a BSP confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Completed degree-level qualification as an allied health professional - Social Work, OT, Speech, Psychology degrees preferred
  • 1-2 years employment experience working with challenging behaviours as a Mental Health or Disability Support Worker
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
