The Cradle Coast Region is a treasure trove of natural wonders, home to iconic species and breathtaking landscapes. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in protecting and sustainably managing these resources.
Our goal is to ensure a healthy future for the region, guided by our 2030 NRM Strategy for Cradle Coast Tasmania. This strategy incorporates biodiversity-themed actions to protect and maintain high-value habitats for threatened species, important biodiversity areas, and ecological communities.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, engage, and consult with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement effective weed management plans.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of a Regional Weeds Strategy for the Cradle Coast region.
- Procure expertise to investigate and analyze models for capturing weed data in the region.
- Deliver on-ground works and/or weed management plans across properties and land tenures targeting regional priority weeds.
- Proven experience in project management related to environmental conservation and natural resource management.
- Strong knowledge of local flora and fauna, as well as government policies and regulations related to weed management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and community groups.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
The successful applicant will work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality. They will also be required to travel regularly throughout the region, with occasional overnight stays.
