About This Opportunity:

We are seeking an exceptional Transition Year Fellow to join our dynamic team in the Intensive Care Unit at Monash Medical Centre.

This role offers a unique opportunity for trainees to complete their training and admission to the college of intensive care medicine.

The primary objective is to introduce consultant activities into the trainee's experience through supervised practice initially, and progress to minimal supervision as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervised ward rounds
  • On call from home
  • Non clinical portfolio

About Our Team:

The Intensive Care Unit at Monash Medical Centre houses a 26-bed unit operating as two pods run by two teams of multidisciplinary staff including Intensivists, Senior and Junior Registrars, Residents, Physiotherapists, Nursing Staff and Pharmacists.

Patient Exposure:

We receive over 2000 admissions a year, over 4500 external emergency responses per year and have an average of 12 ECMO cases per year.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
  • Working with Children's Certificate
