Cardiology Pharmacist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Pharmacist – Cardiology to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at Westmead Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to the Cardiology Unit
  • Ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication management
  • Actively engage in clinical governance, research, and education
  • Develop protocols, promote stewardship, and support quality care
  • Mentor staff, collaborate with teams, and support continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical hospital pharmacy practice in cardiology or equivalent extensive clinical experience
  • Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles to clinical practice
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change
