Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at our luxury five-star hotel.

About the Role

As a key member of our hotel's executive committee, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies to drive business growth and improve employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Learning and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters.
  • Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely payment of employee salaries and benefits.
  • Colleague Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee well-being and job satisfaction.
  • Industrial Relations: Manage employee relations and negotiate with unions to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Develop and implement competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to drive employee performance and growth.
  • Corporate Office Reporting: Provide regular reports to the corporate office on HR-related matters.
  • Workers Compensation: Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and related software applications.
  • Experience in a senior HR management role, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
