Job Overview

The Operational Control Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the OCC and ensuring efficient coordination of turnarounds, compliance with industry standards, and optimal resource allocation.

The role involves developing and directing all aspects of the Operations Centre while maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders. The Manager has overall responsibility for establishing and modifying policies for the operational control process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to ensure schedule integrity and legal compliance.
  • Ensure full legal compliance within the operation and employ sound decision-making processes.
  • Implement procedures to enhance safety and minimize disruptions.
  • Manage network operations for effective disruption recovery.
  • Balance Performance, interdependency, and customer service in line with business goals.
  • Design, develop, and implement performance goals.
  • Maintain cost-effective rosters for operational demands and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Analyse feedback to identify areas of opportunity and make recommendations.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply with Safety and Environment Policies.
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Develop a positive safety culture focused on awareness and vigilance.
  • Conduct work in accordance with the Health & Safety Management System.
  • FOLLOW ALL SAFETY WORK PROCEDURES, ADHERING TO ALL SAFETY GUIDELINES.
  • Participate in emergency drills and/or evacuations.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 4 years working in Load Control and/or Aviation management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for building business relationships.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in building relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated business acumen including financial and budget management and analytical skills.
  • Experience in data management and organization.
  • Ability to deal with problems resourcefully.
  • Possess/maintain a valid driver's license and required identification/authorisations.
  • Available to work varied schedules.
  • Attention to detail, Strong communication skills & Proven organisational skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in or knowledge of airline industry principles and ideally with Load Control/Movement and or Aviation Management experience.
  • Previous experience in a highly controlled and regulated industry with the ability to lead and manage ongoing compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Able to operate at all levels and get into detail one minute and move to a strategic level the next.
