Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, providing essential support to Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families in Central Australia.

About the Role

This rewarding opportunity involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-informed assessment and therapeutic services. You will provide support to Aboriginal children with suspected or emerging mental illness or behavioural disorders, including early assessment, therapy, management, and family support to limit the severity and progression of mental health challenges.

The role requires occasional remote travel and is primarily based in Alice Springs. As part of our commitment to continuous quality systems enhancement, you will work to ensure all Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families have access to high-quality services within a continuous framework.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy services with a focus on child mental health support.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans for Aboriginal children and their families.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Proven experience in delivering occupational therapy services to children.
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community needs.
