Salary and Benefits
- Base Salary: $100,210 - $112,222 (p.a.)
- Total Effective Package: $123,479 - $137,115 (p.a.)*
*Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options.
Job Description
The Speech Pathologist is responsible for providing comprehensive support to Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families to optimise their child's mental health. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide early assessment, therapy, management, and family support to limit the severity and progression of mental health challenges.
You will work in town and visit remote communities as part of this program, ensuring all Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families in Central Australia have access to evidence-informed assessment and therapeutic services within a continuous quality systems enhancement framework.
This role is primarily based in Alice Springs, with occasional remote travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised therapy sessions to children aged 0-12 and their families
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and manage mental health conditions
- Work closely with families to identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Monitor and report on treatment outcomes and progress
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with children and families, particularly in a community-based setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to cultural safety and understanding of Aboriginal health issues
