Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Speech Pathologist to join our team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, working with Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families to optimise their child's mental health.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to support children with suspected or emerging mental illness or behavioural disorders, providing early assessment, therapy, management and family support to limit the severity and progression of mental health challenges.

This program ensures all Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families in Central Australia have access to evidence-informed assessment and therapeutic services within a continuous quality systems enhancement framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families to optimise their child's mental health
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, manage and treat children with mental health issues
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual children's needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for children and their families
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
  • Registration: Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and families in a mental health setting
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment

Location
