Exciting Opportunity: Senior Commercial Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Specialist to support all commercial aspects of contracts and relationships for a significant government program.

The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for providing commercial advice, ensuring contract deliverables are met, and leading contract administration tasks to ensure adherence to the program schedule and quality reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in a commercial, legal, or business advisory role, with demonstrated experience in managing and developing complex contracts, including resolving difficult issues to achieve positive commercial outcomes.

In this role, you will work autonomously, manage multiple priorities with limited direction, and build strong business relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial advice and ensure contract deliverables are met.
  • Lead contract administration tasks to ensure adherence to the program schedule and quality reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to manage commercial outcomes.
  • Communicate program risks, commercial obligations, and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Implement lessons learned from completed projects to establish a learning organization.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, business management, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a complex commercial setting.
  • A minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in a commercial, legal, or business advisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing complex contracts, including resolving difficult issues to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in drafting agreements and managing commercial risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
