Job Title: Mechanical Operations Manager

As a key member of our production team, you will oversee daily site operations to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our machinery and equipment. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills, with a focus on quality control and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the work of the mechanical team, including fitters, turners, and machinists
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to maintain high standards of machinery performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise, minimizing downtime and ensuring productivity
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, promoting safe and effective working practices
  • Monitor and report on team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize overall efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Supervisor or Operations Manager role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical equipment, tools, and processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance
  • Relevant trade qualifications or certifications, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
