Field Service Technician

Job Description:

The role of a Field Service Technician is to provide comprehensive breakdown and general service for all makes of compressors and ancillary equipment. This will involve promoting Gardner Denver's service capabilities and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship.

As a Field Service Technician, you will have the authority to initiate action when a non-conformance is identified and to recommend solutions through designated channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide after-hours call-out assistance and call-back availability when rostered on duty.
  • Conduct overnight field trips to service breakdowns, perform maintenance, and support customers.
  • Promote and sign up medium to long-term customers under the Air Cover preventative maintenance plans.
  • Provide internal and external customer support for the assigned equipment.
  • Complete all documentation and administrative requirements.
  • Pass sales leads onto sales staff.
  • Achieve weekly and monthly productivity targets.
  • Ensure company-owned equipment and premises are kept in a clean, presentable, and serviceable condition.
  • Train, support, coach, and mentor new and existing colleagues.
Key Competencies:
  • Knowledge of compressors or similar equipment is essential.
  • Ability to communicate technical and product information effectively to internal and external customers.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to determine root causes of issues.
  • Organized self-starter.
  • Trade Qualifications: Cert III – Fitter and Turner with a minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
