About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Practitioner to join our Intensive Foster and Kinship Care team. As a Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of each young person and enhance the capacity of their carer families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct carer education, training, and ongoing support to enhance their caregiving abilities.
- Assess complex needs of children and develop individualized care plans, including in-home support strategies.
- Utilize your knowledge of child protection legislation to ensure the safety and well-being of young individuals.
- Facilitate support groups and deliver training sessions to empower carers and build community connections.
- Operate within child-centred frameworks while collaborating within a family-focused network.
- Complete comprehensive documentation accurately and within specified guidelines.
Requirements:
- Degree in Health, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology or similar.
- National Police Check.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children).
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS).
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the service region.
About You:
- Previous experience in working with carers, including training, recruitment, and onboarding.
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex needs of children and implement effective care plans.
- Familiarity with child protection laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in facilitating training sessions and support groups.
- Ability to manage complex documentation efficiently and within deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working environments.
