Assistant Accountant - Commercial Role

This role involves managing financial performance, ensuring accurate reports, and providing client billing. It also includes balance sheet reconciliations, site audits, and handling budgets and forecasts.

The position ensures contract compliance, supports stakeholders, and looks for ways to improve processes and efficiency. Additionally, it offers the chance to work on innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate & Timely Month-End Closing Processes
  • P&L preparation and analysis
  • Preparation of monthly reports identifying and reporting on key findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with Key internal Stakeholders to offer solutions to enhance financial performance
  • Create accurate journal entries as required
  • Ensure the integrity of journal entries by having appropriate data and approvals
  • Stock take reconciliation
  • Regular management reporting & analysis
  • Develop/ Prepare/ Analyse/ Distribute report to specifications
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Administration of invoicing, receipt, and approval processes
  • Create invoices as per the contract agreement
  • Follow up on invoice payments and queries
  • Contract Compliance
  • Preparation of Contract Price Escalations
  • Preparation of Contractual Variations
  • Review of Commercial Terms
  • Assisting Internal & External Stakeholders
  • Support to business partners, operational managers & unit managers covering various financial and commercial facets
  • Partners with all business functions to provide an accurate and efficient supply of contractual information
  • Assist with Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Input into the preparation of detailed budgets and forecasts
  • Maintenance of the contract database register and files
  • Update contract database as required
  • Follow up on queries regarding contract information
  • Ensure contract information is accurate
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and streamlining of existing processes
  • Encourage and embed best practices across the commercial teams
  • Retain focus on continuous improvement in all process-driven activities

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified and/or studying towards CA/CPA
  • Previous accounting experience with a private/public company
  • Advance Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude, who can work autonomously in a team environment
  • A vibrant personality who will be able to work easily with their peers
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience within a commercial accounting environment
  • Experience in the ORACLE accounting system
